Selçuk Dizlek
Allemand, born 1976
Selçuk Dizlek (born 1976 in Schweinfurt) studied at the Nuremberg Academy of Fine Arts; he is a sculptor, but within his bodies of work he very subtly blurs the boundaries between painting, object, relief, sculpture, interaction, and light art. Again and again, the line appears as a unifying design element, whether as a sculptural "drawing" occupying space or as luminous tracks of light.
Dizlek's sculptures are geometrically abstract/concrete.
His work features a variety of materials: Plexiglas, metal, concrete, ceramic tiles, and above all a fascination with "light," which he uses as a sculptural material. Light boxes or light sculptures, steles or light sculptures, objects or reliefs from the color space made of reflective, fluorescent, and translucent materials such as Plexiglas have been central to his work for many years.
