Lidia Vergnon

Française

Lidia Vergnon is a contemporary artist born in 1986, living and working in France. Her work is rooted in an intimate inquiry: exploring the invisible world and the inner dynamics that shape the human being.

Her Slavic origins and her life in France have deeply informed her sensibility — questions of displacement, memory, belonging, and the coexistence of multiple worlds run through both her way of being and her way of painting.

In painting, which she practises across different media — oil, acrylic, and ink — she finds a space for exploration equal to her ambitions. All three serve the same pursuit: making the invisible visible. Her work is built on a deep attentiveness to the creative process, in which time, listening, and observation play an essential role. In a world that celebrates speed, her practice stands as a resolute celebration of slowness.

Her canvases carry the trace of movement, like a memory of gesture. The abstraction she deploys is profoundly organic: even stripped of all figurative representation, one senses breath, growth, pulse. Nourished by a sustained inquiry into colour and grounded in introspection, her painting opens a space for contemplation where emotion, movement, and light enter into dialogue.
